Edward Bridges II Career

He served 22 years in the Air Force and retired as a colonel.  While in the Air Force he completed the Air Intelligence Officer course, the Basic Navigation Course, the Radar Navigator Bombardier School, the Squadron Officers School, the Command and Staff College, and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces.

Ed volunteered and served two tours in Vietnam.  His first tour was from December 1963 to December 1964 in the First Air Commandos.  He returned to an assignment at the University of Missouri teaching in the AFROTC program.

In 1968, he returned to Vietnam and spent another year as a Weapon systems operator in the F-4E Phantom aircraft. He completed over 450 combat missions in his two tours.

He completed a three-year tour on the Air Staff and a tour in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Both assignments were in the Pentagon where he had many contacts with Congressmen and senior government officials.

He completed his Air Force career as the commander of the all-service DOD school the Air Intelligence Training School at Lowry Air Force Base in Colorado.

After retiring from the Air Force, Bridges worked as the project manager in an oil field service camp at Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. He subsequently joined the Life Insurance Company in Germany, where he served as the European Manager from 1990 to 2008. In 2008, he retired to Sun City Anthem, Nevada, after 18 years in Europe.

Edward Bridges II Family

Ed and his wife, Sook, live in the former model village of Sun City Anthem in Henderson, Nevada. They have five grown children between them and two are living in Nevada. The others live in Montana and Southern California.

Edward Bridges II Political Career

Ed was the successful Republican candidate for the county legislature (the Quorum Court) in Bentonville, Arkansas in 1987 and was a Republican candidate for the US Congress in the 3rd district of Nevada in 2009-10.  He ran a good race but failed to win the primary.

When it became apparent that both the Republican and Democratic parties had been infiltrated with ineffective legislators, Ed decided to join the Independent American Party.  Now, he believes that it is time to return to the fundamental restrictions so eloquently described in the state’s constitution.

Ed announced his intention to become the next Nevada governor. He has put in place all necessary plans to unseat the incumbent Democratic Steve Sisolak in the forthcoming general election. Let’s see how that works out considering the fact that Nevada has had a Democratic trifecta since 2019.
