On February 15, 2022, Sherman formed an exploratory committee to run in the 2022 New Hampshire gubernatorial election. On March 14 Sherman officially announced his campaign.

According to him, he is running for Governor because the people of New Hampshire need someone who will focus on finding solutions and building a thriving economy that works for all Granite Staters.

Too many families know what it’s like to question how you’re going to afford child care, pay a medical bill, or cover housing and utilities each month. Tom said when he becomes Governor, helping those families will be his top priority each and every day.

Tom is currently a public office holder but definitely not a match against incumbent governor Chris Sununu, who has had more experience and achievements. Nevertheless, winning the election is determined by the mandate of the people of New Hampshire.
